Tuesday, May 13, 2008 - Today is election day in West Virginia, and unlike the last two primaries in Pennsylvania, Indiana and North Carolina, I am perfectly at ease today. I don’t have the pounding of my heart and the rush of blood up my head. Yesterday I made sure that I saw my medics, his nurse inflated my bp, and when he measured it, he said I was okay, but would want me to stop hyperventilating about some of these things. Yeah, and I have been running again, inside the house, and I have found considerable improvement in my well being.
As I said today, let Clinton win West Virginia and the result is already known. But the media is going to spin it as the resurrection of Senator Clinton’s dead campaign. It’s been known that she would win in that state, I just looked at the demographics from the 2006 census, and the state has less than 15% of people who graduated from college, imagine. Most of the MSM has already called her win meaningless, as in being unable to overtake the formidable Obama delegate advantage. I went into the teevee room and checked the result immediately the polls closed at 7:30 pm in WV, no surprises there.
If she wins big according to the projections, remember the projections in Indiana after the polls closed and Terry MacLuife was projecting a big win and it ended up a nail biter. As I said, there is no fish to fry here. She has won, let her feel good. It doesn’t change the math.
I am going back to my work. I will be checking in other blogs about the actual votes. It would be a shame if she didn’t win with the 80% Bill Clinton had projected she would win with.
She is projected to get 19 pledged delegates and 9 for Obama. Today, four superdelegates endorsed Obama as well as two pledged delegates who switched from Clinton.
